I started Holy Heretics because I’ve been on both sides of this journey. I spent ten years working at Focus on the Family (Don’t Judge!)—I was, by any definition, an evangelical’s evangelical. I know the language, the fears, the devotion, and the terror that can arise when the framework that once held your faith begins to crack. This Substack is for those moments. As a subscriber, you’ll receive thoughtful essays and spiritual wonderings for people disentangling themselves from fundamentalism without abandoning the Way of Jesus. This is a space for deconstruction and reconstruction—exploring contemplative Christianity, the path of personal transformation, healing from religious trauma, and the slow reclaiming of inner authority and deep wisdom.
